El Mojito de Schmidty

Ingredients

  • 1oz simple syrup
  • 1oz lime juice
  • 1.5oz Bacardi Superior White Rum
  • 3 or 4 fresh mint leaves
  • Ice
  • Club soda

Recipe

This mojito is a single glass cocktail, so need to worry about shakers, strainers, etc.

  1. Combine the simple syrup, lime juice, and Bacardi into a glass.
  2. Add 3 or 4 fresh mint leaves, and lightly mash them to the bottom of the glass to extract the oils. Most cocktail stirrers have a blunt end meant to mash things!
  3. Fill the glass to about 85% with ice.
  4. Pour a little club soda on top, and stir really well.

Pro Tip: The more ice you use, the less club soda you use, resulting in a stronger and more minty cocktail. Make sure to use a glass tall enough to fit the ingredients, but small enough that you won’t be needing a ton of ice to fill it up.
